The project is part of that constant call to transformation of the regional economical model. An aspiration demanded by many and long waited for the majority, and in any case necessary. Since regional as national economy demands a change in the knowledge, innovation, and quality factors among others should acquire a leading role not only higher than the current one, but also essential.
It is in this context where, in my opinion, the project Cultural Park Cultural Los Talleres del Pinar, led by the private initiative (Fundacion Gabarrón and the Fundacion de la Lengua Española), in narrow collaboration with the Town hall of Valladolid takes place.
It is a matter of integrating thousand hectares of the Antequera's Pine Forest into the city, by means of the incorporating, in the same heart of its enclosure, a series of artistic, cultural and free time orientated, proposals, which would shape an innovative Cultural Park with a clear national and international projection. The recovery of Antequera's Pine Forest will allow Valladolid to be located at the head of the Spanish cities, with a cultural and free time offer whose extension would be ten times higher to Madrid's Parque del Retiro, five times London's Hyde Park, three times New York's Central Park and two hundred hectares wider than Him Bois de Boulogne on the west of Paris.
And, if these big parks turned soon into the most important centers of attraction for citizens, the one in Valladolid incorporates, as an added value an innovative extra cost, which is the presence of artisans, artists, cultural free time center, capable of generating an attractive international-wide offer.
The project contemplates the installation of five big areas, adapted to the environmental peculiarities of the enclosure. A study area, exhibition hall, conference room, productive area, which will receive the Artisan and Cultural workshops; A third area will hold the exhibition and sale of artisans' products, A residential area, holding accommodations for teachers and people taking part in the activities, a fith area where artistic workshops with apartments linked to the workshop will be located. An outdoors amphitheater, recreational areas and administrative and control buildings will also be found in the surrounding area.
A worthy and innovative initiative.
