Children - the vowels

In phonetics, a vowel or monoptongo is a sound of a natural language spoken pronounced with the vocal tract open, not having any increase of air pressure at any point above the glottis. This contrasts with consonants, where there is a blockage or closure at some point in the vocal tract. The vowels are considered syllabic, an open sound, but no syllabic, is called semivowel.
